| Large Southwest Hospital Kills Harmful Bacteria Using Jan-Pro EnviroShield System |
100% disinfection coverage within minutes
September 7, 2010 — Jan-Pro International, Inc. (Jan-Pro), a global leader in commercial cleaning, announced today that their unique EnviroShield Spray Disinfecting System, used to kill harmful bacteria including invasive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Infections, has expanded its use into two very important areas – hospitals and large call centers.
St. Joseph’s Hospital, part of Catholic Healthcare West, one of the largest healthcare systems in the West, operates a large 750-bed hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. A busy medical center, with thousands of people bustling about every day, St. Joseph’s is open 24/7 -- an environment which, left untreated, could be a source for harmful bacteria, including MRSA.
Maurice Croteau, St. Joseph’s Supervisor for Environmental Services, is charged with the task of disinfecting the sizable medical center. After carefully evaluating disinfectants, Croteau picked the Jan-Pro EnviroShield System.
“Most disinfectants contain soap and leave a sticky film that needs to be wiped down. EnviroShield is the only disinfectant I’ve seen that kills the harmful bacteria and leaves no residue,” said Mr. Croteau. “The disinfection takes place in minutes. This is very important to us as the hospital has so many areas, waiting rooms, treatment areas, doctor’s offices, that we simply can’t shut down to clean.”
With the EnviroShield Spray System by Jan-Pro, disinfectant actually surrounds and clings to all surfaces and hard-to-reach crevices, achieving 100% disinfection coverage. Entire surfaces are disinfected in literally minutes.
“I am amazed at EnviroShield’s ability to work on all surfaces. It does not leave a moist film, even on fabric chairs or keyboards,” continued Croteau. “It offers disinfection coverage with the most complete encapsulation system that I have seen, and that is important in a hospital application.”
With over 18,000 hospitals in the world, the need to control the spread of harmful bacteria, contaminants and disease is great. According to MRSA Survivors Network, more Americans die annually from deadly MRSA Infections than from HIV/AIDS, H1N1 influenza and Parkinson's disease.
